Developing a Culture of Supervision in School

Workshop with National Hub for Supervision in Education Leeds Beckett University leedsbeckett.ac.uk/nhse

There has been a growing interest in supervision for educational professionals from schools and MATs in Cornwall. Some group supervision for TIS and other wellbeing practitioners has been provided through the Headstart funding which is due to stop at the end of this academic year. The Educational Psychology Service and Headstart Kernow have arranged for this fully funded opportunity for 15 senior leaders from schools/MATs in Cornwall. We hope that by providing this opportunity it will help schools/MATs to consider how best to be able to provide supervision and reflective practice opportunities going forward.

This workshop will enable senior leaders to develop and implement a culture of supervision throughout their school/organisation.

Using research and evidence-based approaches the course will include strategies for culture development as well as how to create an action plan for implementation within a school/education provider.

  • Develop an understanding of what impact supervision can have on the whole school as well as the individual.
