Cornwall Schools’ Wellbeing Hub Newsletter 4th December 2025
Thursday 4th December 2025
Welcome to the Wellbeing Newsletter
There’s no stopping it now, it’s December and if Christmas hasn’t already arrived in your school, it’s about to. And probably to the exclusion of all else. Good luck!
We’ve collected together some Christmas themed wellbeing activities – see below. These include ideas, links and resources for supporting C&YP (and adults) for whom this time of year is tricky.
Website focus
In the Christmas resources we’ve included one of our Christmas colouring collections. This is taken from the Start Now wellbeing toolkit (in the Connect colouring area). There is another Christmas colouring collection alongside many other simple wellbeing tools and resources. There will also be some additional Christmas content and information about support available over the break.

News and Resources
Improving Access to Youth Volunteering in Cornwall – Volunteer Cornwall and Cornwall Youth Council
Volunteer Cornwall and Cornwall Youth Council are working together to make youth volunteering opportunities easier to find across the county.
A recent survey of young people led by Youth Council showed that many are unclear about where to look for volunteering roles. In response, we are encouraging more organisations to register with Volunteer Cornwall’s opportunities page - to make this an accessible platform for young people to search for suitable opportunities.
The platform is free to use and now includes an age filter to help young people quickly identify relevant roles. When uploading opportunities, organisations can select the appropriate age range.
Our ask to organisations
We are asking not-for-profit organisations to register and upload their opportunities. Increasing the number of listings will help ensure more young people have equal access to information and meaningful volunteering experiences.

Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 – Official Resources
We’re excited to share the official resources for Children’s Mental Health Week 2026.
This year’s theme, “This is My Place,” explores the importance of belonging for our mental health and wellbeing. When children feel they belong, they feel valued and accepted. It helps them grow strong in both mind and body, and empowers them to make a real difference in the world.
Artificial Intelligence Resources – Uk Safter Internet Centre
The UK Safer Internet Centre has launched new educational packs on the safe and responsible use of AI, designed for children and young people aged 3–18. Available in English and Welsh, the packs include slides and activities to support Safer Internet Day 2026.
Calming Christmas resources

ELSA - Christmas & Winter Wellbeing Resources
With December approaching, we’ve created a special set of festive ELSA resources to support wellbeing. From calming wordsearches and mindful colouring packs to games, crafts, and kindness challenges, there’s something for every classroom or group. You’ll also find practical tools like our new black lanyard with added safety features. These activities are designed to bring calm, connection, and creativity during the busy winter season — helping children feel supported, engaged, and uplifted.
Anna Freud Mentally Healthy Schools - Climate Change & Mental Health Toolkit
As the term ends, many young people are reflecting on the challenges of a changing world. Climate change can spark curiosity and hope, but also worry and uncertainty. This month’s toolkit, informed by The Compass Project (Climate Cares Centre at Imperial College London with Anna Freud), offers practical ideas and trusted resources to explore the link between climate change and mental health.
