Belonging Matters

Much of what we do to support C&YP's wellbeing centres on helping them develop greater self awareness and emotional literacy alongside coping skills and strategies.

Our resources for C&YP, schools and parent & carers reflect this.

A sense of belonging, founded on felt safety, is vital for children to fulfil their potential.

5 Ways to Wellbeing

Evidence (e.g. in a report by the New Economics Foundation) suggests there are 5 ways we can all improve our mental health and wellbeing.

Having strong social relationships, being physically active and being involved in learning are all important influencers of both well-being .In addition the processes of giving and becoming more aware have been shown to specifically influence well-being in a positive way. A combination of all of these behaviours will help to enhance individual well-being and may have the potential to reduce the total number of people who develop mental health disorders in the longer term.

You can find more 5 Ways ideas / activities for C&YP on the Start Now website

There are some excellent resources and ideas on the Charlie Waller website for both adults and children.

The Resilience Framework

Belonging is one of the 5 pillars of resilience and wellbeing. The Resilience Framework is a great way to explore belonging with C&YP.

Resilience Hero - our online 'visual novel' based on the resilience framework. Set in Cornwall it explores a sense of belonging

Our Resilient Moves Card Deck  is a great hands on way to develop an understanding  of the Resilience Framework and all the resilient moves.
